The theme of the conference is The Social and Educational Impact of Language Assessment.
Papers were invited in German, English, Spanish, French and Italian on three topics.
Topics
Language Assessment for Teaching and Learning
Covering subjects such as formative/teacher assessment, teacher education/certification, and the growing area of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).
Language Assessment and Intercultural Dialogue:
Language testing, migration and social inclusion
Touching directly on the current debate concerning the use of language tests in the context of migration and citizenship, this topic will explore a number of strands, including the development and assessment of language competence for study and work-related purposes. ALTE, as an INGO (International Non Governmental Organisation) of the Council of Europe, will also provide a conference forum to focus on the work of European bodies, including the EU and the Council of Europe, in the integration and social inclusion of migrants and an exploration of intercultural dialogue.
