Venues

ALTE Cambridge 2008 will be held across three neighbouring University of Cambridge buildings situated on West Road: the Faculty of Music, the Faculty of English and Gonville & Caius College. The three venues are conveniently situated a few minutes' walk from the famous Cambridge Backs and King's College.

The Concert HallFaculty of Music (West Road Concert Hall)

The Faculty of Music is one of the oldest and most famous university music departments in the world. The plenary sessions of ALTE Cambridge 2008 will be held in the Concert Hall.

The Cavonius Centre Gonville & Caius College (The Stephen Hawking Building)

The Stephen Hawking Building incorporates The Cavonius Centre, offering conference rooms and college accommodation set around the College’s landscaped gardens.

The Faculty of EnglishFaculty of English

The Faculty of English, home of The Research Centre for English and Applied Linguistics (RCEAL), will provide modern conference facilities for the sessions.

Fitzwilliam MuseumFitzwilliam Museum

The Fitzwilliam Museum is one of the greatest glories of the University of Cambridge, with unique collections housed in a building of outstanding architectural beauty. The museum is a short walk from central Cambridge.

All delegates are invited to attend the welcome reception hosted at the Fitzwilliam Museum.

King’s CollegeKing’s College

The Conference Dinner will be held in the magnificent Hall of King’s College. King's College will offer ALTE Cambridge 2008 delegates the experience of fine dining in a historic and atmospheric venue. King's College Hall is located in central Cambridge.
