Centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP)

Founded in 1946, the Centre international d’études pédagogiques contributes to the development of international cooperation in education. In 1987 it became a national public establishment and in 2003, it signed with its parent ministry, the French Ministry of Education and Higher Education, an objective agreement that defined its mission.
The latter is based on two major areas of activity:
- languages: French as a foreign language and foreign languages in France
- education: international cooperation in education and training
The CIEP is recognized in France as well as abroad for its training skills, expertise, certifications and reflection in the field of international cooperation. Its activities rely on a skilled staff of 200 people.
The CIEP is an international seminar center that hosts and organizes seminars and conferences about current issues in education. Located in the former Royal Porcelain Manufacture in the Paris suburb of Sèvres, the CIEP provides the required modern facilities to host international gatherings and provide accommodation for their participants. Since 2000, it has had an agency in Réunion Island.
