Listening

Applicants should be able to understand simple official statements and public notices, to show precise understanding of short factual utterances and to make identifications on the basis of these, to extract information of a factual nature (times, dates, numbers, etc.) from an utterance containing language of LLTALC Syllabus, to understand the meaning of simple conversation, the attitudes and intentions of the speakers.

Reading

Applicants should be able to understand public notices and signs, simple official statements, to read short texts of a factual nature and show understanding of the content, to scan factual texts, to discriminate between relevant and irrelevant information, to read texts of emotional and imaginative character, to grasp their gist and the author’s intention.

Writing

Applicants should be able to pass on information, to report events, to describe people, objects and places, to convey reactions to different everyday situations within the limits of the topics and language functions mentioned in the LLTALC Syllabus.

They should be able to use the words they know appropriately and accurately in different written contexts, and be able to produce variations on simple sentences.

Speaking

Applicants should be able to express themselves in everyday situations within the limits of the topics and functions listed in the Syllabus.

They should be able to ask questions, to understand them and to make appropriate responses. They should be able to talk freely and fluently using the vocabulary and the grammar structures included in the LLTALC Syllabus.
