Assessment and Marking

Marking

Test papers are marked by members of the Examination Committee, who are trained examiners. Candidate's performance on the Speaking paper is assessed by two examiners: the interlocutor and the assessor.

Examiner training

Examiners are offered special training courses, which consist of lectures, seminars and workshops given by the staff of the Department of Lithuanian Studies.

Quality Control

The process of marking is supervised by the Chairperson the Examination Committee, who is responsible for the quality of marking. The Chairperson monitors the assessment of both the written papers and the Speaking paper.

Results

The standard evaluation of the candidate‘s performance at any test level is pass/fail.
The candidates have the right to appeal to the test administrators (within one week after they have received their test evaluation) and have their papers double-checked. Both the written papers and the recording of the Speaking paper are double-marked. A written answer is produced within one week from the date of the candidate‘s appeal.
