New ALTE Full Member - Interuniversity Testing Consortium (IUTC)

We are pleased to announce that the Interuniversity Testing Consortium (IUTC) has joined ALTE as Full Member and passed successfully the ALTE audit.
The Interuniversity Testing Consortium (IUTC) is composed of 5 university language centres in Flanders, the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium. IUTC develops, administers and assesses exams linked to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and has created a course-independent examination system for tests of English and Dutch.
One of the IUTC-tests is the ITNA (Interuniversity Test of Dutch as a Second Language). It was issued and developed as a high-stakes admission test for the B2 and C1 levels required for higher education in Flanders.
The test comprises three parts: a computer-based test, an oral face-to-face part and an additional writing part for C1-candidates.
The 17 minimum standards of ALTE, for establishing quality profiles, were met both for the B2 and for the C1 level of the ITNA.

Sabine Steemans, test developer at the Antwerp University language centre, said about the ALTE audit: the audit procedure has proven to be an inspiring experience, which has further consolidated our self-developed quality requirements, but has also reinvigorated our constant search for improvement. During this journey, the auditor, Henk Kuijper, was an indispensable coach who stimulated us with thought-provoking questions.
