ALTE – the Association of Language Testers in Europe – is looking to appoint a freelance coordinator to support the ALTE Services Unit Manager from 1 June 2024.
The role is for up to 5 hours a week and can be done remotely.
What the role involves:
Supporting the ALTE Services Unit Manager in daily tasks related to the development of ALTE courses and ALTE consultancies.
Supporting the ALTE Services Unit Manager in the preparation and processing of offers and contracts.
Liaising and working closely with the team at ALTE on topics related to invoices and budgets.
Liaising with external partners, vendors and clients, and making sure the related tasks are completed.
Coordinating the sign-ups for ALTE courses with the ALTE Services Unit Administrator.
Maintaining a clear database of information and necessary documentation.
Liaising with colleagues in the ALTE Secretariat as and when needed.
What the applicant should be able to demonstrate:
A proven track of experience in business development activities in the educational sector.
Excellent interpersonal, organisational and customer service skills.
Excellent MS Office skills, including Excel and Teams.
Ability to maintain clear databases of documents and data.
Excellent intercultural communication skills.
Basic knowledge of language assessment theory and practice.
Ability to work efficiently both autonomously and collaboratively.
High proficiency in English and one other European language (at least C1 level each); knowledge of other European languages an advantage.
Familiarity with the work of ALTE and its objectives (desired).
Conditions:
The post is offered as a freelance consultancy role, i.e. the person appointed is responsible for paying for their own taxes and insurances, etc.
The role should be carried out from home (a location within the UK or Ireland)
Payment is £25.00/hour, but subject to qualifications and experience.
The expectation is that the Services Unit Coordinator would typically work up to 5 hours a week for the contract period and would invoice ALTE for hours worked on a monthly basis.
Hours can be flexible to suit, although occasionally the post holder would be required at pre-arranged times (meetings etc.)
The first contract period is from 1 June 2024 to 31 December 2024, further contract periods are possible, subject to a review in December 2024.
