Prøve i Dansk 2
This is an examination based on the Council of Europe's Threshold (B1) specification for the written part and the specification between Threshold (B1) and Vantage (B2) for the oral part.
There are three components:
Reading
Candidates are expected to be able to read quickly in order to extract factual information from texts from sources such as leaflets, brochures etc. Candidates are further expected to be able to read short factual texts carefully and understand details and points of view.
There are two compulsory sections, each with 10 items of the following task types: multiple-matching, multiple-choice, short answers, true/false.
The length of the texts is maximum 8 pages. The time allowed is 90 minutes.
Writing
Candidates are expected to be able to give information, ask questions, describe situations and events and express opinion, taking into account the specified audience and purpose.
There are two compulsory tasks, including a semi-formal message/announcement and an informal letter to a friend.
There is no requirement as to the length of the response of the first task. The response of the second task should be about 100 words in length. The time allowed is 90 minutes.
Oral communication
Candidates are tested in pairs by two Examiners (an Interlocutor and an Assessor) and are required to answer questions about themselves, carry on a monologue and participate in a conversation on a selected topic, both with each other and with the Examiner.
Candidates are expected to be able to understand simple communication. Candidates are further expected to give information, describe, express opinion, give reasons and influence.
Weighting of components
Each component is given a score. When calculating the average grade, the oral communication component counts double.
Results
The scores given, range from 0-13.
The three scores are reported as a profile of the skills of reading, writing and oral communication.
Certificates are awarded to all candidates.
