Winter School on Artificial Intelligence for Language Learning, Teaching and Assessment

The videoFrom 19th to 23rd January 2026, ALTE in collaboration with the University of Foreigners of Perugia (ALTE Full Member) will host the "AI-Forward | Winter School on Artificial Intelligence for Language Learning, Teaching, and Assessment", within the PNRR- TNE project "Innovative Mediterranean Partnership for Advancing Collaborative Teaching” (IMPACT), funded by the European Union - NextGenerationEU and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).

The Winter School aims to empower language educators, curriculum developers, instructional designers, and assessment specialists with knowledge, tools, and strategies to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) in language education. 

The Winter School, coordinated by Professor Letizia Cinganotto, will be held in person at Palazzo Gallenga, Perugia (Italy) and will also be online. The event will bring together national and international teachers, trainers, evaluation experts, and policymakers for five days of keynote lectures, pratical workshops, and case studies. The initiative will address key topics such as language learning, assessment, AI ethics, and inclusion, with contributions from international speakers from ALTE (Nick Saville), UNESCO (Miao Fengchun), the European Commission (Anna Sole Mena; Vito Borrelli), the ECML of the Council of Europe, EALTA, INDIRE, INVALSI, and CINECA, and teachers, researchers, and experts from major Italian academic institutions.

Please note, the registration is now closed due to the unprecedented requests of registration. 

However, the opening event, scheduled for Monday 19th January, starting at 2:00 PM, will be streamed live on the University's YouTube channel, accessible and free to everyone. Please watch the live streaming here.

The video recordings of the presentations of the other days (20th - 23rd January) will be made public at a later stage.
